Another day, another fashion disaster for Mischa Barton.

The 24-year-old actress made a brave attempt at 20s chic - but the result was more flapper girl failure - at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles yesterday.

Mischa, who is fast becoming better known for her sartorial disasters than for her acting prowess, wore an unflattering black dress cut to just below the knee teamed with what looked like a dead raccoon on her head.

At least the hat, which was made of black and white feathers, covered some of her hair - which had been dyed an unflattering bright blonde and looked in dire need of a deep conditioning treatment.

And while the flat two-tone pumps were probably a wise move to avoid the heels-stuck-in-the-grass situation - they did little to lift the fomer OC star's unfortunate outfit choice and left her legs looking dumpy.

At least she had some familial support in the form of her sister Hania, 22.

Hania, who, like Mischa, has spent time in rehab, looked decidedly more stylish than her big sister, wearing a mustard floral shift, cream jacket and straw boater.

Hania was treated for an addiction to prescription painkillers in 2007, while Mischa was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold last year after experiencing a meltdown at her Hollywood home.

Mischa later claimed it was the pain from a botched wisdom tooth operation which led to her hospitalisation.

She said: 'It's kind of silly now to be talking about it because I'm so fine now, but it was just a really bad time for me.'

Also hanging out at the polo was Minnie Driver, 40, wearing a strapless floral number accompanied with possibly the world's smallest handbag.
